During interviews, JobMojito enables candidates to have a free-flowing conversation without needing to click a button or do anything else that would pull them out of the experience. To achieve this, JobMojito runs a "turn detection" algorithm trained specifically for each language and uses real-time audio data to identify the right moment when the candidate has stopped speaking. Before the first word has been detected#
When the candidate's turn starts, the agent will listen for up to 11 seconds for the first word to be detected. If detection is not successful, the agent will deliver three prompts. After each prompt, an additional 11 seconds of listening will take place:"Could you repeat that, please? I didn't hear your response." -> wait an additional 11 seconds
"Are you there?" -> wait an additional 11 seconds
"I still cannot hear you. There might be excessive background noise or a technical issue on your end. We will need to end the interview for now. Feel free to retake it at any time." -> go to the failed page
After the first word has been detected, conversation pace:#
Faster: If the candidate is silent for 1.6 seconds, we will start generating the next question. This is ideal for fast-paced discussions.
Normal: If the candidate is silent for 2.65 seconds, we will start generating the next question. This is an ideal interview pace and allows the candidate time to think.
Slower: If the candidate is silent for 3.6 seconds, we will start generating the next question. This is an ideal interview pace for candidates speaking in their second language or for users who are deep thinkers.
Speculative creation of next question#
While generating the next question, the digital recruiter continues to listen to the candidate. If any speech is detected, we will revert to listening to the user. This feature enables candidates to use the time while the next question is being generated (typically 500ms) to interrupt the process.Special case: Second language#
In a multilingual environment, when the candidate should speak a second language, that specific answer's conversation pace is set to "Slower".Special case: 15 character answer#
Some candidates like to acknowledge the question and then start to think. For example, "Good question, [pause to think], ...". If the transcript is less than 15 characters long, we provide an additional 2 seconds for the user to think. Modified at 2026-02-23 21:08:19
